The Chevrolet Volt can’t have all the fun. Case in point: the 2011 Buick Regal has been named Car of the Year by NADA Guides, beating out 10 other would-be recipients.
The NADA Guides test criteria involved categories such as performance, styling, design, fuel economy, safety features, cost of ownership and price point. Additionally, the Regal’s win can be credited towards the proven Opel Insignia, the sedan’s direct German relative. In Europe, the Insignia holds 31 awards, including the 2009 European Car of the Year. I’ve seen a lot of controversy over the choice that NADAguides, http://www.nadaguides.com, made for their 2011 Car of the Year Award. And honestly, I’m not a huge GM fan but I’m sure glad to see an American made car win.
We’ve been putting so much praise on foreign auto makers – it’s about time we give kudos to our own hard working men and women and encourage more American ingenuity.
yep though such a shame it’s german engineered. upppssss
The “German engineered” phrase that is featured in the Buick Regal’s ads is indeed questionable, but production should begin in Oshawa, Ont. this year if I recall correctly.
