Believe it or not, this news has nothing to do with Tiger Woods. Instead, we’re going to tell you about GM’s plan (that will be announced this Monday) for Cadillac to become a sponsor of the upcoming professional golf events.
Besides the obvious benefits of sponsoring a widely-followed sporting event, GM is also hoping to put Detroit in a position to host a PGA Tour in 2012. The sponsorship is part of The General’s marketing chief Joel Ewanick’s plan to use GM’s business to aid Detroit. Look to this coming Monday for more details on this developing story.
