After 31 Years, Chevrolet Camaro On Track To Outpace Ford Mustang In Annual Sales

Scoreboard – Camaro: 71,521, Mustang: 64,171. As of the end of October 2010, the Chevrolet Camaro ha taken a commanding sales lead over the Ford Mustang, a lead that will most likely not be lost by year’s end.

For 31 consecutive years, the Mustang has outsold the Camaro. 31 years. That’s back when the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl XIII, the number one song on the charts was Heart of Glass by Blondie and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back was still in the making. How things have changed.

Hopefully the Camaro can get on a winning streak with the 5th generation model. This seems all the more likely, especially with the addition of the all-new convertible and the rumor of the SS version acquiring more power.
