As you may have gleamed from the GM Authority series of podcasts, yours truly is an ardent hatchback lover. As such, you can probably imagine my unrestricted joy and elation upon laying my eyes on the first-ever images of the Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback show car. Needless to say, I was thoroughly excited that the Delta II-based hatch was wearing Chevy’s bow tie on the grille.
After exploring the Cruze hatch in greater detail, there was one design element, in particular, that caught my eye… and it’s this particular detail that I want to bring to your attention in this article.
The specific ingredient I’m referring to is the orange triangular turn signal located atop the blue back-lit headlamps. To me, these turn signals bring out the true taste of the show car – and it’s the single element – along with the back-lit headlights – that I hope will eventually make their way to the production version of the Cruze.
Never mind that the Hatch show car is already a Cruze (which means it’s simply beautiful) or that it’s a hatch (which scores it extra brownie points in my book); the extra design flair that’s present on this vehicle is nothing short of aesthetic coitus.
And now to the real question: will these cool-looking headlights and triangular turn signals ever make their way to a Cruze? I certainly hope so – but I wouldn’t be disappointed if they didn’t.
What say you, dear reader? Sound of in the comments.

Although the LED lights will almost certainly not make it to production, I can’t see how GM won’t be able to keep those signal lights in the headlights.
Nevertheless, that’s one hot-looking hatch.
It is one cool hatch indeed. As for the turn signals, I think they’ll just put them in the front of the lamp rather than on top of the headlight like they are in the concept…. which is rather unfortunate, since this can be a very distinctive feature of the Cruze.
We’ll see…

Spoiler on the hatch should be made bigger. Cool car indeed…
That looks fantastic! Almost Subaru WRX-ish from the back. Now if it had all wheel drive and a turbo 4 I would be definatley wanting one! The lights make the front end! it would be very cool if they could keep them! But they always leave out the cool parts in the production versions…:(
isso aew q nos merecemos aqui no brasil
I THINK IT IS A GOOD LOOKING CAR,I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THIS MAKE IT TO THE STREET JUST LIKE IT IS.I BET IT WONT BUT WHEN KIA GET A LOOK AT THIS I BET THAT THE SHARP LOOKING TURN SIGNAL WILL BE ON ONE OF THERE CARS COME ON GM GET HIP. PLEASE
