Time to break out the candles and cake, GM Daewoo just built its 10 millionth vehicle and celebrated its 8th anniversary. Since 2002, GM Daewoo has built 11,129,597 units at the end of September 2010, which includes 5,342,908 complete vehicles and 5,786,689 complete knockdown (CKD) kits. The celebration was held at GM Daewoo’s Bupyeong plant in Incheon, Korea.
“The production of 10 million vehicles in just eight years shows GM Daewoo’s tremendous potential around the globe. Our goal is to become an even stronger, more aggressive player in the domestic and global marketplace by launching seven new models next year and enacting positive change in every part of our business. We want to help GM design, build and sell the world’s best vehicles,” said GM Daewoo’s President and CEO Mike Arcamone.
Since GM Daewoo establish in 2002 it has created new jobs, made investments into production and manufacturing, helped more than 100 domestic parts suppliers enter the market, and became one of South Korea’s fastest growing automotive companies.
