Just yesterday we brought you GM’s September sales results and the world-famous GM Authority By-The-Numbers sales breakdown for the month of September. And while knowing that The General moved 137,155 units last month is nice, it doesn’t really tell us how our favorite automaker fared in the overall market place. To that extent, we compiled sales numbers for all manufacturers and pit GM’s results against those of its competitors. What we ended up with was a 17.4 market share for GM – putting it squarely in the number one position in the United States. Ford came in a close second and Toyota a rather distant third.
