Buick And GMC Dealers Given Tour Of Milford Proving Grounds, Lansing Delta Assembly

Close to 900 Buick and GMC dealers experienced a pair of firsts at their annual business meeting: GM allowed dealers to test drive the latest Buick and GMC vehicles at the Milford Proving Grounds, followed by a tour of the Lansing Delta Township Assembly to witness the construction of the Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia.

Three waves consisting of three hundred dealers each visited the Milford Proving Grounds to test drive vehicles. They then made their way to the Lansing Township Assembly and watched the birth of both the Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia. After these inside looks, the groups finally attended a business meeting hosted by The General. Brian Sweeney, Vice president of Buick & GMC Sales explained why GM went this route:

“This program was created to give them a unique behind-the-scenes look. We want to empower our dealers to take what they learned here and share their experience with their customers and dealerships.” Dealers were also impressed by what GM had done for their annual meeting. Bobby Cavender of Cavender Buick GMC in San Antonio, TX was quite impressed with it all, saying:

“This is a great time to be a Buick & GMC dealer. GM dealers are excited about the future and the next generation of vehicles.”

Though dealers had to pay through their own means for the festivities, they most likely held no complaints to test drive the 2011 Buick Regal CXL Turbo through a high-speed “autocross” course, or performing an HD shootout with a 2011 GMC Sierra 3500 HD against a Ford F-350 Super Duty or a Ram 3500 Heavy Duty. Dealers also experienced the privilege of driving the new 2011 GMC Acadia Denali as well as the 2011 Buick LaCrosse.
