Opel/Vauxhall Continues Van Collaboration With Renault

Any and all Opel/Vauxhall van owners – this is for you! GM’s European arm and Renault have announced plans to continue their cooperation in producing light commercial vehicles.

The effort, which began in 1996 with the Renault Master and Opel/Vauxhall Movano van, has evolved to a point where both automakers have released all-new models of the Master and Movano as well as the successful Opel Vivaro and Renault Trafic. The agreement to continue the collaboration will result in the joint development of future Opel Vivaro and Renault Trafic model.

Unfortunately, those hoping to get their hands on a Movano stateside shouldn’t get their hopes up just yet. But if reports are to be believed, GM may be working bringing the uber-van to North American shores as you read this. Let’s hope it pans out and we get a (much-needed) Chevy Express/GMC Savana replacement pronto!
