For those not attending today’s Woodward Dream Cruise (or for those reading GM Authority from Woodward), here’s a commercial for the new Buick LaCrosse.
The ad highlights the high-tech nature of the vehicle, including the hard-disk-based navigation system and 40-gigabyte hard drive for music storage. However, this particular writer believes that hard drive storage systems in today’s cars are completely unnecessary, since drivers and/or passengers already have their music ripped to their personal music players and/or smartphones; re-ripping CDs all over again to the car’s memory seems rather pointless.
Nevertheless, this ad is one more step in the right direction in transforming Buick into a true Lexus competitor. It, after all, is the new class of world class.
