Executive Shuffle: Vauxhall Gets Its Own Version Of GM’s Musical Chairs

Andy Gilson

Vauxhall announced two executive changes beginning July 1. Andy Gilson, Vauxhall’s current Marketing Director, will take the position of Customer Experience & Corporate Strategy Director. Gilson’s new post will deal with customer satisfaction and developing new strategies for Vauxhall. Gilson, who oversaw the launches of the Astra, Agila, Insignia and new Meriva, will be superceded by Peter Hope.

Hope is currently Integrated Communication Manager at Vauxhall and was responsible for the brand’s launch of significant products including the 1998 Zafira. Hope said the following about the change:

“This is a wonderful opportunity for me to oversee Vauxhall’s marketing direction during an important time in the company’s history. We have a long list of exciting new product launches on the horizon, so there’s never been a better time to be at the marketing helm.”

This move bucks a New GM trend that we at GM Authority like to call executive musical chairs. Let’s hope this move works to increase overall morale and effectiveness at Vauxhall.
