The T-Top once defined an American sports car. In fact, the 1968 Chevy Corvette coupe was the first U.S.-built production automobile to feature a T-Top roof. The T-Top was so successful on the C3 ‘Vette, that it replaced the Corvette Convertible for a good decade. So it’s simply natural for us to ask – since the 5th-generation Camaro is such a hot-selling vehicle, should Chevy make T-Top an option for its all-new pony car?
Before you answer, take a look at the rendering above and think about what would happen to the all-important B-pillar when it’s combined with a T-Top roof.

I soo miss T-Tops! Never liked the whole convertible thing but I could go for some t-tops in a cruiser like the Camaro!
Hook us UP!
I miss it too (even though Manoli misses it more) – but I’m not sure whether the 5th gen will be able to do it given its B-pillar placement and the fact that it’s more of a sedan than a hatch (as the 4th gen Camaro was).
Nevetheless, we’d love for GM to at least try!
T-tops should be offered, on “ALL VEHICLES’ !
I KNOW THIS, FROM MY 1989 CHEVROLET RS CAMARO!
Besides having the T-tops of glass out, as much as I could, even when they are in, at least you can still see through them, as you look up, no matter what the weather is, you can not look up and see through a clothed ragtop.
( T-TOPS HAVE A WAY BETTER ADVANTAGE RATE OF SURVIVAL, OVER A CONVERTIBLE GETTING TORN. )
GIVE ME MY GLASS T-TOPS, ANYTIME!

GM managed to negate a B-pillar of the Zeta with the Holden Commodore Coupe 60 concept a few years ago, and boasted that the design was production feasible. Oh how I yearn for T-Tops
the car actually looks kind of good with them. but as a driver’s car it would reduce structural integrity. that said, the car may be solid enough on the awesome zeta to maintain it’s so-so performance in handling etc. i’m undecided leaning towards “GIVE ME T TOPS”
A Camaro without t-tops would be like buying a sailboat without a mast. This is iconic for Camaro. I have had several Camaro’s and Firebirds through the years, and never one without t-tops. This will be a collectors item, just like all the others! Don’t tease us GM.
Chris – very true, but it just may be that the Zeta architecture can’t take that added flexibility. Don’t get me wrong – I’m a fan of t-tops like the next guy and would love to see them on the current Camaro… but it may not be physically possible.

I owen a G4 z28 best car i ever had and was exited to here about the g5 but with out t-tops I’ll never upgrade.
Of course, the only thing that got me interested in the Camaro was the T-Top. Also if it were to be built losing the small window behind the doors would look nicer. As for structural integrity think outside the box and find an innovative solution that will work.
I have been waiting for the new camaro to come out with T-Tops, that’s the reason i have not bought one yet! I hope they will have them soon!!!
I definatly think GM should come out with a 5gen camaro with t-tops, if they figure out how to do it… they should also make a trans am package for the new camaro with like the honeycomb wheels and t-tops and the front clip… I would buy it
Agreed on the T-tops. Not sure about the Trans-Am… that’s turning over a leaf that has decayed over and over again.
I own, bought new 2002 Camero T-Top. I would buy a new one today if I could get it with a T-Top.
Very curious as to why adding T-Tops would reduce structural integrity when the Camaro has an optional convertible. I would guess whatever way T-Tops were added it would have 100% more protection than a convertible. Not physically possible makes no spence. I also own a 2002 Camaro with T-Tops and would buy a new one today if T -Tops were an option.
I think theyes should. It makes them look more like a muscle car. Hope that they do.
yes, please come back with the T-Tops on the Chevy Camaro or at least the Z28 / SS models.
it make’s it a fun sport car to drive!
Has anyone thought of having hard T-tops (not glass) that are electric?? They could slide back, kinda the same concept as a sunroof.
Targa top with sliding roof or hardtop, T top is cool too, but automatic Targa roof is awesome
Please bring back the Camaro with the T Tops
I had one back 95′ and love the way how sporty it looked it was awesome I would always have so many compliments. I would definitely buy one if it comes back.
Alex Luft, I understand the Zeta thing, but you could fix it. You would sell more Camaros then you could count. Please!
