Spy Photos of Bob Lutz’s New Book Heard In Interview

Bob Lutz’s first book, Guts: 8 Laws of Business from One of the Most Innovative Business Leaders of Our Time, was published in 1998. Times change but Lutz has kept his innovative touch, having spent the last nine years turning GM upside down (and succeeding). In his rapidly approaching retirement, Maximum Bob plans to write his second book as well as spend more time flying.

Innovative and controversial often go hand in hand, and Lutz knows both. His novel ideas about business, leadership, and management have brought him to the top of each of the big three American automakers (along with BMW). With good reasoning, Lutz challenges many accepted business norms in Guts. Presumably, the new book will incorporate his unique thinking throughout his tenure at General Motors and the problems of turning around this sleeping giant.

Lutz’s new book looks to be a project he will (to paraphrase him self) sink his teeth into, something he has yearned for at GM ever since taking on his current advisory position.

So when will we get a chance to read Bob’s new book (that, as far as we know is still unwritten)? He retires on May 1 and will hopefully begin writing ASAP.
