In light of last week’s announcement that GM will be bringing back 1,200 workers for around-the-clock production of the upcoming Chevy Cruze at the Lordstown, OH plant, the city village is looking for interesting ways to honor The General.
The Lordstown Village Council has announced that it is considering re-naming part of Hallock-Young Road to General Motors Parkway. As the story goes, village leaders would like to do something to honor GM’s commitment to the area.
A meeting will be held today (Monday) at 5:30 p.m. at the Village Administration Building where residents will have the ability to voice their opinions on the matter.
The GM Authority Take
This is a twofer for GM and its fans, as The Genral gets to build the Cruze, a class-leading vehicle, in an area where buyers will (potentially) be able to drive their GMs on the GM Parkway. Can it get any sweeter?
