2019 GMC Yukon
We expect the GMC Yukon to receive a few minor changes and updates for the 2019 model year, which could be the last model year of the current, fourth-generation Yukon/Yukon XL as the next Yukon is expected for the 2020-2021 model years.
Following is speculative and unconfirmed information about the 2019 GMC Yukon and 2019 GMC Yukon XL. This page is a continuous work-in-progress and will be updated on a regular basis as we await official details from General Motors and GMC.
If you notice any inaccuracies about the information provided, or have edits to suggest, please let us know here.
Following are our expectations of the 2019 GMC Yukon family:
- Minor changes to features/equipment group structure
- One or two new exterior colors
- One or two new interior color combinations
- Introduction of all-new MyLink infotainment system
- No changes to powertrain, or possible introduction of the new GM 10-speed automatic transmission across all trim levels/models
The 2019 GMC Yukon continues to be offered as a full-size four-door SUV and extended-length full-size four-door SUV (Yukon XL).
Like all fourth-generation units of the GMC Yukon, the 2019 Yukon continues to ride on GM’s GMT K2 platform shared with the Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, as well as the Cadillac Escalade and Cadillac Escalade ESV. The same basic architecture is also used by the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
We expect the 2019 Yukon to follow the regular GM model year rollover sequence, and launch in the third quarter of the 2018 calendar year.
We expect that the 2019 model year will be the last year of production for the fourth-gen GMC Yukon, and that an all-new, next GMC Yukon will launch in the 2020-2021 model years.
