General Motors Indonesia opened its new headquarters office on December 11th, 2015 in Pondok Indah, Jakarta Selatan, moving it from Pondok Ungu, Bekasi.
The new office in Pondok Indah follows automaker’s decision to shut down manufacturing operations at the Bekasi plant, thereby transitioning to a National Sales Company. Pondok Indah is an upscale residential area in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta that’s informally referred to as the ‘Beverly Hills’ of the country.
The soft opening of the office was marked by a ribbon cutting by Gaurav Gupta, president director of GM Indonesia, and attended by GM Indonesia employees and Chevrolet dealers. The new office in Pondok Indah will “put GM Indonesia closer to its Chevrolet customers, which is in line with GM Indonesia’s commitment to providing the best service”, said GM in a press release.
General Motors Indonesia currently does not operate any production facilities in the country. It previously operated the GM Bekasi factory.
