2020 Chevrolet Trax
We expect the Chevrolet Trax to receive a few minor changes and updates for the 2020 model year, which we believe will be the last model year of the current, first-generation Trax, since the next Chevy Trax is expected for the 2021 model year.
Following is speculative and unconfirmed information about the 2020 Chevrolet Trax. This page is a continuous work-in-progress and will be updated on a regular basis as we await official details from General Motors and Chevrolet.
If you notice any inaccuracies about the information provided, or have edits to suggest, please let us know here.
Following are our expectations for the 2020 Chevy Trax:
- Minor changes to features/equipment group structure
- One or two new exterior colors
- One or two new interior color combinations
- No changes to powertrain, or possible introduction of a new engine, such as the new turbocharged 1.4L LE2 I-4
The 2020 Chevy Trax will continue to be offered as a subcompact, five-door crossover utility vehicle (CUV).
Like all first-generation units of the Chevrolet Trax, the 2020 Trax will continue to ride on the GM Gamma II platform shared with the first-generation Buick Encore and first-generation Chevrolet Sonic.
The 2020 Chevy Trax is assembled at the following two factories for global markets:
We expect the 2020 Trax to follow the regular GM model year rollover sequence, and launch in the third quarter of the 2019 calendar year.
We expect that the 2020 model year will be the last year of production for the first-gen Chevy Trax, and that an all-new, next Chevy Trax will launch in the 2021 model year.
