
The General’s four brands recorded 207,028 total sales in the U.S. market for the month of February 2011, representing a surge of 49 percent compared to their performance in total unit sales a year ago and a 70 percent gain in retail sales, which is a new record for The General in retail sales growth though these major gains are widely attributed to increased sales incentives.. Unlike the leaves, The General’s October sales numbers did not fall (though they stumbled a bit in September.) During the past month, GM has posted a 3 percent year-over-year sales boost, with sales totaling 183,392 units, up from 177,603. This tallies up the 2010 domestic grand total for General Motors’ “Core” brands at 1,717,114 units year-to-date. It’s still not as much as GM is selling in China. Continue reading.
