Following a flurry of reports signaling the future demise of the GMC Acadia, here’s a change-up of epic proportions: according to Cheers & Gears, the Acadia will not be discontinued. Instead, the next-gen full-size crossover from GMC will shrink — moving to the Theta Premium platform that currently underpins the Cadillac SRX (and impending Saab 9-4x). Continue underpinning.

For those hoping for a fancier, sexier take on the Chevrolet Silverado, you could be in luck. According to the truck gurus at Pickuptrucks.com, the Chevrolet Silverado may see a jump upmarket that features the likes of the Ram Longhorn and Ford King Ranch with a new trim package. What’s more, the truck will resurrect the classic “Scottsdale” name, which dates back over 30 years ago.

The General’s four remaining brands have posted a 21 percent year-over-year sales boost in the U.S. for the month of October, recording 168,704 total sales – up from 151,056 in November 2009. This tallies up the 2010 U.S. sales total for General Motors’ core brands at 1,885,818 units year-to-date. They look on track to break 2 million sales. Continue reading.
