“Marking the new start in Europe, Cadillac presents a portfolio of model year 2011 vehicles.”
That’s the opening line of a press release from Cadillac Europe. Continue reading.
It wasn’t even two weeks that Chevrolet uncloacked the production version of the all-new 2012 Aveo. At that time, however, the bow tie brand only showed us a few studio shots of the exterior – leaving the interior of the new Gamma II-based subcompact to our imagination. As such, it goes without saying that we’re really excited to finally see a few photos of the car’s cabin – thanks to a promotional video of which the folks over at CarScoop have taken snapshots. Chevrolet Europe has given its Captiva CUV a fairly substantial mid-cycle refresh, consisting of an updated exterior design, improved interior, and a new engine and transmission lineup. The updated Captiva will be one of four Chevrolet world premieres at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, joining the Cruze hatch, all-new Aveo, and Orlando MPV. Continue reading.
Opel has announced pricing for its Astra Sports Tourer, which will be present at the upcoming Paris Motor Show from October 2-17. The Tourer, which Opel describes as beautiful, athletic, practical, eco-friendly, and affordable, is essentially a wagon version of the Astra 5-door hatch.

To put it honestly, hatchbacks are in Europe are to what full-sized pickups are in the United States: they’re everywhere. The market is extremely competitive and are more or less a cultural phenomenon. This being the case, it comes as no surprise that General Motors is showing off yet another hatchback at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. This time, it’s the Vauxhall GTC Concept. Continue reading.
If you’re fixing to buy a Ford Fiesta, hold off for just a little bit. By next year, you could be driving the all-new Chevrolet Aveo instead. The all-new hatch, which will be The General’s second truly global vehicle following the Cruze, will be on display at the Paris Motor Show, joining the Chevy Orlando MPV and Cruze hatch. The trifecta of hatchbacks (along with a possible wildcard entry from the Chevy Spark) will surely help to quench Europe’s thirst for wagon/hatchback vehicles. Today, General Motors released the first official photos of the tiny hatch – here’s what we’ve gleamed so far. Continue Reading.
Bonjour Belle. Before its live debut at the Paris Motor Show on September 30th, Chevrolet has officially released photos of its latest model destined for European launch – the Cruze hatchback. Since we’ve speculated about the model’s arrival in the last few weeks, this news does not come as much of a shocker – but it doesn’t ice down the fact that this C-segment wagon looks hot. White hot. It looks like the upcoming Paris Motor Show will be quite a big deal for General Motors. The Cruze hatch could match up very will against other compact hatches, such as the 2011 Ford Focus, Mazda3, Hyundai I30, and Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback here in the States… but that’s only if it makes it here. Unfortunately, the variant has not been confirmed at all, let alone for the U.S. If you’re a fan of hatches (like our own Alex Luft), the news may be somewhat disheartening. The hatch is rumored to have been developed by GM Holden in Australia. Continue reading.
