Alex Luft Founder And Director of Business Development
Alex is the founder of GM Authority and its parent company, Motrolix. He currently serves as Director of Business Development for the network.
An automotive enthusiast at heart, Alex has a strong passion for anything on wheels. He founded GM Authority in 2009 — just as General Motors was going through a highly-publicized bankruptcy – after noticing a significant amount of misinformation about the automaker, its products, and business strategies in the media.
Under Luft’s leadership, GM Authority has become the standard in independent General Motors news coverage and analysis, uniting GM enthusiasts the world over and serving as the opinion leader on matters related to the automaker.
Prior to assuming his current post at Motrolix, Luft was part of General Motors Company’s Global Connected Customer (GCC) division – an industry-first department responsible for the development, execution and customer experience of in-vehicle technology for GM vehicles. Prior to that, he headed digital marketing at the largest privately-owned dealer group in the states of Colorado and New Mexico.
Luft is Bilingual in English and Russian as well as fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. He holds two degrees in Marketing and in Management from Florida Atlantic University.
When not working, Alex is likely seeking out twisty mountain roads in his 2015 Cadillac ATS, playing ice hockey, alpine skiing, or reading.
