2020 Chevrolet Malibu Adds New Midnight Edition Package

With General Motors trimming the fat across the board with regard to poorly selling sedan models, it should come as no surprise that the midsize Chevrolet Malibu looks as though it may be headed to the chopping block by 2024. However, prior to that, the latest 2020 Chevrolet Malibu slots in as the fifth model year of the current ninth generation. Now, in an attempt to spark a little extra interest in the four-door, Chevy is offering a new Midnight Edition package for the Malibu.
Framed as a fresh appearence upgrade, the Midnight Edition package is offered exclusively with the Chevrolet Malibu LT trim level. The package is also exclusively offered with the Mosaic Black Metallic exterior paint option.
Priced at $795, the package touches on a number of exterior features, adding a dark aesthetic with upgrades that include:
- Black Malibu nameplate badges
- Black front and rear Bowtie badging
- Blacked-out grille with dark chrome surround
- 19-inch black-painted aluminum wheels, split-five-spoke design
- 245/40R19 all-season blackwall tires
Indeed, the Midnight Edition package does help to give the 2020 Chevrolet Malibu a nicer appearance, adding a sense of cohesiveness to the design. The dark details are offset by silver trim for the front grille, headlamp housings, and DLO (day light opening) surrounds.
Unfortunately, the 2020 Chevrolet Malibu is one of the few Chevy cars left, with both the Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Impala getting the axe recently. Nevertheless, we expect the ‘Bu to carry on for at least a few more years. When it is finally replaced, it’s possible we’ll see an all-new model make a splashdown, something which may or may not be a three-box sedan attached to the Malibu name.

Wow. That came out really well.
This car might be a great value for people that don’t need all wheel drive.
Take away the CVT trans bring back the 6spd auto or 9spd across the board & give that 1.5L little more power & maybe redo the interior & ACTUALLY market the car sales might increase. Not everyone wants a truck or SUV.
Looks like the 2018 Redline Edition except without the red trim
Not much fun to drive.
CVT is probably the best transmission for the little 1.5T in the Malibu.
