Some 2010-2015 Cadillac SRX Owners To Be Reimbursed Over Headlights

Owners of 2010-2015 model year Cadillac SRX crossovers will be reimbursed for expenses they may have incurred making repairs to the vehicle’s headlights after a class action lawsuit was filed in 2017.
This class action proceeding is actually separate from the class action suit over the SRX’s headlights that was recently filed in Detroit. Unknown legal hurdles caused this class action suit to be thrown out in all states except for Florida and California.
Like the lawsuit filed in Detroit, this proceeding alleges the headlights on the 2010-2015 model year Cadillac SRX may have faulty weather seals that erode prematurely, allowing moisture to enter the headlight casing. This may cause the bulb to either dim or burn out entirely.
Owners have complained of dim headlights when driving to the point where some can not use their vehicles at night. The problem also returns once the headlights are repaired at dealers, causing owners to incur additional repair expenses. Furthermore, some Cadillac dealers have refused to fix the problem even when the vehicle in question is still under warranty.
According to Car Complaints, General Motors has now agreed to reimburse owners for any replaced headlamp capsules or lightbulbs, with a cap of up to $1,600 per replacement. The repairs must have been associated with problems caused by moisture and owners must initially pay out of pocket for the repairs.
However both the California/Florida and Detroit lawsuits claim that having the headlights repaired does little to fix the problem, as moisture will simply re-enter the headlight and the dimming issue will return. Car Complaints says SRX owners are routinely faced with bills of around $1,500 to fix the issue, while some have even faced repairs totalling more than $5,000.
The Detroit suit also says GM actively tried to cover up the Cadillac SRX headlight defect and continues to do so today.

Avoid GM at all costs I say! I have a 2012 SRX with the headlight dimming/non visibility issue that folks in Florida and California have had the same and settled a class action suit over…was told by GM reps that my car was delivered to NJ not those other states so I am SOL… What kind of company put lives (my teenage daughters who share the car to be exact) at risk over a problem that they have acknowledged in the same car in two other states??? a company that sucks! And who has 3K for a fix that folks in those two other states state is a “short term ” solution. Sure hope my kids don’t have an accident in this car related to night time “in”-visibility or I will own GM…and then close it down! NOT General Moters…Goturmoneyseeulater Moters
Cadillac used to be the “standard of the world”….the “third world” apparently! How is it that GM will not fix a problem with a 2012 SRX in NJ when it acknowledged it has the same problem in Florida and California where it agreed and settled a class action suit??? And who in the hell has 3K for what will be a re-occurring issue. GM: goturmoneyseeulater motors!
What a monumental disappointment. Customer service so long as you are paying through the nose and out the but…..Message: Avoid GM and Cadillac at all costs !!!!!
I have a 2015 SRX and it has gotten to the point where I won’t drive it at night because I can’t see very far with the lights on dim. My husband noticed that the last time I drove it on a country highway, I had very little headlights showing. This is a major safety hazard. GM should take ownership of the problem if they want repeat customers.
My 2015 Cadillac SRX has the same low beam headlight problem that is caused by the internal light lense. Probably from moisture that clouds the refraction lense, that causes not enough light to light the path in front of the vehicle. Like driving without headlights! I have replaced the bulb and cleaned the exterior lenses, but to no avail, and the Cadillac dealership does not want to hear about it. They just suggest replacing the whole headlight assembly that costs $650.00 just for the part, not labor included! How do I enter the class action lawsuit?
I sent in my claim and still have not herd back or receive any reimbursement, has anyone receive anything ??

I too send them my invoice of my repairs that were done back in January 2019, today July 17, I received a letter stating that my invoice was inadequate, its a shop invoice with a number of a legitimate business that has been open for over 30 years, I have my copy at home I’m going to look for it and send it back to them, also they now are writing on the letter that I have to respond by August 1, 2019, when I noticed the problem I went to the dealer and they suggested that it would cost about $3000, that I should shop around, they suggested well I did shop around and I went to a local shop and paid $1640. to have both front light replace. now they tell me my invoice is no good are you kidding me, People they are using every excuse not to pay the claims. save your receipts because these idiots are not going to get away with this.
I had that issue but I bought mine online for about $250
And it took me about 30 minutes to 45 minutes to put them in so it just shows a lot of people just trying to get money from GM
I have a 2015 SRX with dim head light, went to the dealer to see why one of the headlights is brighter then the other but they can’t tell.
I believe the 2007 has the same issue because I have one and had to replace them three times already plus the fog lamps
I sent GM headlight I voice from the dealer and they claim that I haven’t provided proof that my car had the repair done. Sleezy. Luckily I kept a copy and emailed it in. Beware, they’ll try to get out of paying.

I filed a complaint of the same issue. I have not had fixed but it needs to be done. To date, I have not heard anything
Headlights on my 2012 SRX barely even produce any light. I submitted my issue on classaction.org (search Cadillac SRX headlight). Hopefully there is a recall soon otherwise I will never purchase another GM product.
My headlight is full of condensation on my 2012 SRX. This really hampers my driving. How do we go about getting it fixed. I also have a foul smell coming from my vents when the air is on. The water does not drain properly.
Just got off the phone with customer service and they will do nothing to reimburse me on the cost of replacement of my dim headlights due to moisture. They don’t care that it is a safety issue with these headlights.they are so dim you can’t see at night. I had mine replaced at the dealer at a cost to me at $1200.
All SRX Cadillac owners 2010 to 2015 need to file a class action lawsuit against GM and boycott them until they decide to make this problem right and go away for SRX owners. I have had to replace my SRX lights almost every time it rains and I could have purchased a new Cadillac by now with all the replacement lights. Something needs to be done and soon!
I have had the same problem twice on my 2010 SR .
Can someone please tell me where to send the invoice for a possible reimbursement
