Chevrolet Tahoe sales decreased 17 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018, not a great turn of events considering current market trends that strongly favor utility vehicles such as crossovers and SUVs over sedans. We believe that the sales decrease is the result of strong competitive pressure from direct rivals – the new Ford Expedition and Nissan Armada as well as a significant amount of anticipation of the all-new, 2020 Tahoe. So, in what could be a way to boost Tahoe sales volume in the face of strong competition, a new Chevrolet discount reduces the price of select Tahoe models by 11 percent, which – in some cases – can be more than $8,000 in savings.
Nationwide Chevrolet discounts on the Tahoe for March 2019 are as follows:
- 2019 Tahoe: 11 percent below MSRP on most models when financing with GM Financial
- 2019 Tahoe: $1,250 customer cash on select models
- 2018 Tahoe: $1,500 cash allowance + $1,750 customer cash = $3,250 total cash allowance on select models
- 2018 Tahoe: $500 APR cash + 0 percent APR for 72 months when financing with GM Financial
It’s worth noting that the 11 percent discount does not apply to models with the Premier Plus Edition package (WP9) or select base trim levels.
For reference, here are the applicable 2018 and 2019 Tahoe trim levels and their corresponding starting MSRPs:
- LS (1LS) – $48,795
- LT (1LT) – $53,895
- Premier (1LZ) – $63,495
- LS (1LS) – $49,195
- LT (1LT) – $54,195
- Premier (1LZ) – $63,895
Applying the headlining 11 percent Chevrolet discount to an in-stock 2019 Tahoe Premier model with an MSRP of $75,505 brings the starting price of said model to just $67,200 – a notable decrease of $8,305. Meanwhile, the $3,250 discount brings the starting price of a 2018 Tahoe down to $45,945.

About Chevrolet Tahoe
The Chevrolet Tahoe is a full-size Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). It is currently Chevrolet's second-biggest SUV, slotting under the extended-length full-size Chevrolet Suburban. The current model was introduced for the 2015 model year and represents the fourth generation of the Tahoe nameplate. The model rides on the GMT-K2 platform shared with the Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Sierra, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL as well as the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV.
The 2018 Chevy Tahoe represents the fourth model year of the fourth-generation Tahoe. The vehicle remains highly competitive in its segment and the 2018 model year brings various improvements, most notably the Tahoe RST appearance package and Tahoe Performance Package with the 6.2L V-8 L86 engine and the new GM 10-speed transmission. The 2019 Chevy Tahoe represents the fifth model year of the fourth-generation Tahoe, and offers up a new exterior color, a new Premier badge on the tailgate, and new color availability for the Tahoe RST as well as the rear-closeout feature. In addition, a new Premier Plus model is introduced and includes the 6.2L V8 L86 engine, 10-speed automatic transmission and several premium-level touches.
An all-new, fifth-generation model is expected for the 2020 model year. The vehicle is expected to be based on the new GM T1 platform while delivering an all-new exterior, interior, powertrains, and styling details.
