Drivers Ricky Taylor and Johnny O’Connell claimed the SprintX GT championship title for Cadillac Racing at last weekend’s round of the Pirelli World Championship at Circuit of the Americas (COTA). Their No. 3 Cadillac ATS-V.R ended up at the front of the pack of contenders for the team championship after the No. 31 TR3 Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 spun on the first lap of race two at COTA, taking out the No. 8 Cadillac Racing Cadillac ATS-V.R of Jordan Taylor and Michael Cooper in the process. Neither of those cars finished the race.
Ricky Taylor and Johnny O’Connell in the No. 3 Cadillac Racing Cadillac ATS-V.R placed second in the first race of the weekend, managing a seventh-place finish in the second race. Jordan Taylor and Miachel Cooper finished sixth in the No. 8 in the first race, failing to be classified in the second.
CRP Racing drivers Ryan Dalziel and Daniel Morad, who won the second SprintX race last weekend in the No. 2 Mercedes AMG GT3, secured enough championship points at the tenth and final round of the 2017 Pirelli World Challenge SprintX series to land in second for the season, just three points behind Taylor and O’Connell.
