Holden has announced it will be supporting a major cause in Australia ahead of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. The GM subsidiary has partnered with the LGBT+ Mardi Gras parade and become an official sponsor of the organization’s pursuit of marriage equality in the country.
The brand will supply a motorcade of Holden vehicles decked out in rainbow wrap to carry the parade’s ambassadors, including Steve Grand, Bob Down and Cindy Pastel through Sydney, Australia’s streets.
Holden reiterated its support for equality and diversity, knowing the company itself comes from all walks of life.
“We’re so excited to show our support as the automotive partner of this year’s Mardi Gras. At Holden, we believe in equal rights for all and to be in solidarity with a community our employees are already a part of means a lot,” Ashley Winnett, Executive Director of Human Resources at Holden, said.
“In the last year we’ve made some huge steps in the equality and diversity space and not just in our support of LGBT+ campaigns like Mardi Gras, Midsumma Carnival, Fair Day and marriage equality.”
The parade will take place on March 4, 2017, and you can catch all the happenings involving Holden on its various social media channels.
