General Motors won’t be sitting idly by after launching the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV. In fact, it seems the automaker has plans to keep the ball rolling in regards to battery electric vehicles.
He cited the 2017 Bolt EV and its modular platform, which was engineered from the start to support a wide range of “top hats”, or body styles, as Ammann put it. Specifically, models that are both larger and smaller than the current 2017 Bolt EV.
When touching on the topic of Tesla and the brand’s performance credentials, Ammann stated it’s certainly an option to chase performance “as we look into the future” and develop what will eventually be a “broad portfolio of [electrified] products for GM.”
