We live in a world where a Chevrolet C7 Corvette can run a 9-second pass using a completely stock differential, transmission, and motor.
To clarify, it isn’t a completely stock motor, as you can hear a cam at idle. Our understanding is that this description is in regard to the internals of the bottom end of the engine. Since, for some odd reason, there seems to be some ambiguity with the definition of ‘stock’, let’s be clear – if it’s not the way it came from the factory, then it isn’t stock. Period.
Regardless, the fact that you can bolt on a procharger with a few other supporting mods, like cheater slicks, and run less than 10 seconds at the dragstrip with an otherwise factory spec Corvette is extremely impressive.
The driver said he knew he had broken into the 9’s when he felt the car hook, and he was right, as he set a new personal best time of 9.69 at 143 miles per hour. Hit play to see the run for yourself.
