This beastly, turbocharged 2007 Chevrolet Silverado was built by LSExperts and makes over 1,600 horsepower. 1,625 hp to the flywheel on 20 pounds of boost, to be exact.
When the LSExperts Chevy Silverado made its first appearance at Holley LS Fest, it ran a respectable 9.39 before suffering an engine failure. The engine – which is a 388 cubic-inch LSX with a K1 crank, Callies billet rods, Diamond pistons, Brian Tooley Racing valves and cams, hydraulic rollers, a turbocharger sourced from Race Parts Solutions, and is matted to an FTI Power Glide transmission – had snapped a rod.
It turns out the engine builder was given a bad batch of rods, but thanks to a warranty the crew was able to get the truck back up and running before the Street Car Takeover in Atlanta. And that’s just what it is, a street car, or rather, a street truck. It’s got a full frame and full interior, and weighs well over 4,000 pounds.
During its comeback, the truck ran a 9.18, putting muscle cars at the track to shame. Hit play to watch this beast of a Silverado take off down the strip like a rocket.
