The lowrider culture has always been a creative niche in the automotive culture scene, which focused on aesthetics and style over speed.
And a new film wants to dig into the scene more so than ever. It’s simply titled “Lowriders“.
The film, set in Los Angeles, California, deals with a young graffiti artist and his family who is engrained in the lowrider scene. The trailer above portrays some friction between the artist and his father, but it looks like cars may be what brings them together after all. And, of course, iconic vehicles like the Chevrolet Impala are included, which has long been a staple of lowrider culture.
Lowriders will be one of many automotive films to hit the big screen this year, with the release of The Fate of the Furious and Cars 3 also looming. The film opens on May 12, 2017. Check out the trailer right up above.
