Ford has pulled off a clever move in the buoying parts industry. In an effort to steer some owners into Ford service centers, the auto manufacturer has rolled out its Omnicraft parts brand, and the parts suit any make or model.
That’s right, you can pull your Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac or any GM vehicle into a Ford dealership for proper service with these new Omnicraft parts. Ford Authority reports 1,500 parts will be available for non-Ford vehicles to start and the automaker has plans for 10,000 different components across 30 different categories in the future.
“Omnicraft is a significant benefit to any vehicle owner who needs parts or to have their vehicle serviced,” says Ford Global Customer Service President Frederiek Toney. “Now, owners of non-Ford vehicles have access to quality parts at a competitive price, backed by Ford and installed by Ford’s world-class certified technicians.”
Not only will Ford benefit from these new parts with increased service department traffic, it’s quite likely the automaker will reap the benefits of increased showroom traffic. We’re sure the blue oval would love to conquest a few consumers while rival vehicles are being worked on just a few doors down.
Considering the average age of a vehicle on the road today is 11 years old, the timing couldn’t be better.
Right so people service their Silverado/Sierra and comes out with a F150 lol
They will, if the right for them F150 catches their eye when they are getting their non Ford pickup worked on.
Troublesome engagement numbers for Ford Authority? Keep cross promoting, it’ll gain traction eventually
I’ve mentioned before about better citing sources and references beyond just an italicized hyper link, maybe more outwardly citing other websites and blogs your information is pulled from would help. You give them credit, they return the favor.

I don’t see the local Ford dealer stocking anything but Ford parts, which means they won’t be in the business of selling raw parts for other brands.
Dealers always fix other brand vehicles, especially broken ones traded in.
Omnicraft as a brand, would never mean anything to anyone who knows anything about automotive replacements, other than that Ford will back the product quality.
This is largely answering the call. ACDelco was the first to offer parts for non-GM cars. The last air filter I put in my Maxima was a Delco – built specifically for the Maxima.
I rarely see a dealership from the non-luxury brands that scoffs at the potential oil change, brake job, or routine service regardless of who makes it. Just be good at haggling, and bring your own oil.
Can’t beat the Chinese stuff, which everybody is selling.
Competition is a wonderful thing!!! Consumers will enjoy the benefits and may get to drive some of Ford’s latest performance offerings , many of which fill gaps in GM’s stable!
It would be no different than getting non warranty or recall work done at Midas, Napa, or Canadian Tire. If the price is competative, with quality parts, by competent mechanics, in a timely manner, why not.
Sure, put them on the shelf right next to the Motorcraft parts so I can find them, be right there!
