In the world of diesel truck racing, there are some monstrously powerful builds that’ll run some wicked fast times at this dragstrip. In this video we see a Chevrolet Silverado with a Duramax turbodiesel engine that is guesstimated to put out well over 2,000 lb-ft of torque.
While it is capable of running 10-second passes in the quarter-mile, the truck is also a street-legal daily driver – now that’s impressive. We can only imagine the wall of torque this owner feels as he rockets down the strip. And how fun the drive to work is.
Click play to watch the heavier Silverado put a supercharged C6 Corvette and 2JZ-swapped Nissan 240 to shame at the track. (Speaking of a 240 coupe, peep the beautiful blue Datsun in the background at 0:25 – yes, we appreciate more than just GM vehicles here.)
