When it comes to the high-stress demands of professional truck racing or monster truck competitions, high-quality parts are needed to assure strong performance and reliability. That’s where the Callies Compstar Duramax crank comes into the picture, comprised of 4340 forged steel and engineered to endure abuse.
Properly placed counterweights improve balance while also reducing bearing loads. The forgings are rough machined in a process that includes double stress relief operations that make these crankshafts very dimensionally stable. The crank is also hardened with a deep nitride for reinforcement.
Callies recently unveiled the new crank at the 2016 Performance Racing Industry show in Indianapolis, but the crank will not be available until this summer.
