It’s an unfortunate chapter for the Bob McDorman Corvette Museum. Following McDorman’s passing in 2015, the museum has shut its doors for good, according to CorvetteBlogger.
The museum stated it would close on December 30th, 2016, and the vehicles and memorabilia would be sent to auction. Specifically, Mecum’s Indianapolis showing will see the cars and collector items off.
McDorman, a Chevrolet dealer for 50 years, spent much of his life collecting first, last, low-production and celebrity-owned Corvettes.
38 cars will be auctioned off at Mecum Indianapolis and 22 of them will be Corvettes. The auction opens on May 16, 2017.
