If Burt Reynolds gives you a gift, you best take care of it. However, Jay R. Ferguson, had a bit of an accident with a very nice gift from Reynolds.
Ferguson, who co-starred with Reynolds on the 1990s television sitcom “Evening Shade”, recalls Reynolds giving him his first car. That was a Chevrolet Corvette Reynolds had driven in one of his films, he told The Talk.
However, Ferguson goes on to say he proceeded to crash the Corvette in a series of unfortunate events saying, “It was fun while it lasted.”
Of course, Burt Reynolds is best known for “Smokey and the Bandit”, which featured a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. That car sold at auction for over $500,000. It seems Reynolds has always been appreciative of fast cars.
