76-year-old Ola Donalson thought she was out of luck when a woman dressed in scrubs came to her home and stole $1,000. Donalson says the woman stated she was sent from her doctor’s office to discuss a new walker, and upon being let inside, she took $1,000 in cash and money orders. The money was being saved for Donalson’s rent payment.
According to local news affiliate Fox 4, When a local Dallas Corvette club heard of the misfortune, they stepped in to help. An online fundraiser was set up and the Corvette club arrived in fashion to deliver the money and warm holiday greetings.
“This could be my mother. It could be my grandmother. Any of these guys’ mom. And this is just something we just couldn’t let go by without trying to do something,” said Keith King of Unique Corvette Club of DFW.
Donalson was in shock over the support.
“I cannot believe that people have come together for me like that. I cannot believe that people have come together for me like this,” said Mrs. Donalson.
In total, the Corvette club raised nearly $8,000 for Donalson, a relief knowing police have not made any arrests in her case.
In the end, we simply enjoy seeing the car community rally around an excellent cause.
Good look guys/gals. Nice to hear
