Every now and then, the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship posts an onboard video of one of its competitors’ cars lapping a circuit it visits with commentary from one of the team’s drivers laid over top.
Corvette Racing’s Tommy Milner took us for a lap of Watkins Glen International onboard the No. 4 Corvette C7.R last year and now, they’ve called upon Danish driver Jan Magnussen to do the same in the No. 3 Corvette at Lime Rock Park.
A lap of Lime Rock is extremely short and feels even more so in the fast GTLM-spec C7.R. If you’re talented like former F1 driver Magnussen, you can hustle a GTLM car around Lime Rock in about 51 seconds, meaning the IMSA series completed just shy of 170 laps during their recent 2-hour, 40-minute event there. Sounds tiring.
Check out the video above to see and hear how it’s done at Lime Rock from one of the most experienced drivers on the IMSA GTLM grid.
