The German-based tuning company known as Irmscher has released a rough concept for its iteration of the Opel Adam. It starts out as a factory Opel Adam S, and the tuner cranks the 1.4-liter engine output up from 148 hp to 168 hp. Which is plenty, considering the size of the little Adam.
The main idea behind Irmscher’s design is to pay homage to Germany’s racing heritage, particularly the Opel Ascona A rally car that was piloted by the legendary Walter Röhrl during the 1970s. The yellow and green finish you see is representative of Irmscher’s traditional rally colors.
Irmscher equips the Adam with a flashy wide-body kit. Extending the front and rear fenders was necessary in order to fit the 19-inch alloy wheels. Most appealing to us thus far, though, would be the sports tuned suspension.
Who knows, maybe the Irmscher Adam is an autocross hero in the making.
