Having just announced the freshened 2017 Chevrolet Sonic, the Bowtie brand also shared the following stats regarding the subcompact car range.
- The Sonic is Chevy’s top vehicle for first-time new car buyers.
- Over 20 percent of Sonic customers are younger than 35.
- Nearly 30 percent of Sonic buyers trade in non-GM vehicles.

Those stats are quite impressive given ever-increasing competition in the subcompact passenger car space. In fact, that kind of performance is exactly what Chevy needs to stay relevant with Gen-X and Millennial customers.
That said, here’s to hoping that Chevrolet is taking advantage of opportunities to introduce Sonic owners to (and sell) other vehicles in the Chevrolet portfolio if/when the time is right.
