The truth is, V6 cars don’t get as much love as cars with V8s. “Wow, nice Camaro! Oh, it’s just a V6? Meh.” That’s generally how it goes. This Pontiac Firebird aims to break that stereotype with a badass twin turbo V6, which is out of a Buick, actually.
This old Pontiac has two 62mm turbochargers, which isn’t super impressive, but the fact that it runs the quarter mile in seven seconds is very impressive. The driver informs us that this Firebird can run a 7.80 at 183 mph, unfortunately it’s never been on a dynamometer so we don’t know how much power is being put to the wheels to make that time.
What we do know is that watching this Stage 2 V6-powered Firebird put V8 cars to shame in the Streetcar Takeover’s Street Racer Outlaw class is quite entertaining, so click play and enjoy the show.
