Depending on who you talk to, some may say it’s a good thing retro is out. In the early to mid ’00s, retro was all the rage. The design trend spawned the previous-generation Mustang, Chevrolet SSR and the Volkswagen New Beetle.
Now, as we march through the ‘010s, contemporary style is beginning to take shape. But, retro can still be cool. Especially this little mashup seen here.
The front clip sees retro cues such as the split chrome bumper and more angular front end in general. The greenhouse sees a much rounder look from the current C7 Corvette, but the rear is where most of the changes take place.
Again, we have split chrome style with a modern interpretation of the C2 rear with the block-style taillamps from the C7. The retro-licious wheels are the icing on the cake.
While we’re glad the C7 Corvette looks the way it does, we can’t help but dig this poster-style Corvette rendering for what it is.
