Redline Motorsports has successfully built what’s claimed to be the world’s first ever twin-turbocharged 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS. In doing so, Redline has uploaded a YouTube video showing off the finished work along with its dyno numbers. On just 9 lbs of boost, Redline’s 2016 Camaro put down a whopping 657.2 rwhp and 633.4 lb-ft of torque before it reached fueling limitations. Running E85 fuel through bigger injectors should get the numbers closer to the 700 range.
Of course that’s a crazy amount of power for the 2016 Camaro. And it also provides an alternative option to tuned 2016 Camaros with hefty superchargers, such as those seen from Hennessey or Lingenfelter. At the same time, it curbs the impatience of potential customers waiting in the wing for what’s expected to be a 2017 Camaro ZL1, with what’s assumed to have the 650 horsepower LT4 V8 engine in it.
