Corvette Racing officially debuted its new-for-2016 Corvette C7.R at the annual Roar Before the 24 test today. The C7.R has received numerous updates for 2016 including an improved roll cage, a roof mounted-escape hatch and aerodynamic revisions, however most immediately obvious is the new stars and stripes livery.
At an initial glance the new C7.R may appear identical to last year’s car, featuring Mobil 1 decals and the team’s iconic yellow paint scheme, however if you look just aft of the front wheels you’ll notice a patriotic new addition. There Team Chevy has applied a subtle American-flag type decal and the text ‘Made In America’.
The new scheme is expectedly popular over at the Corvette Racing camp and not just with the lone American driver Tommy Milner. Danish driver Jan Magnussen has also taken to the patriotic design, putting out the following tweet before climbing in the car earlier today:

The C7.R’s aerodynamic revisions were highlighted in a short post by Corvette Blogger, who pointed out that the front diffuser now features new winglets and the rear diffuser is much larger and more aggressive. The C7.R’s rear wing also now sits more rearward, giving it a more aggressive aerodynamic look.
