There are few things in life that are as thrilling as shooting down a 1/4 mile stretch in less than 10 seconds. Such as what driver Ryan Martin of B&R Performance recently accomplished, who piloted the first 2016 Chevrolet Camaro to break into the single-digits with a time of 9.381 at 137.92 mph.
It’s hard to tell in the video, but judging how much grip the RWD pony car manage to get out of the gate, we’re going to assume it was wearing drag slicks. It also sounds like this Camaro is fitted with the automatic 8-speed, but it obviously isn’t stock. The LT1 V8 features light porting of the stock heads, BTR cam, MSD intake, longtube headers, NX plate kit, and is tuned by CBK. All these goodies equate to 500 rwhp, which jumps to 650 courtesy of a nitrous squirt. Without nitrous, the B&R 2016 Camaro still achieved a 10.95 second 1/4 mile.
Of course, as time goes on, we fully expect somebody else to leapfrog the time of this tuned 2016 Camaro. And we can’t wait to see what that time will be.
