Chevrolet’s ‘Find New Roads’ Camaro road trip produced many great moments (stay tuned for GM Authority’s experiences on the trip) but one of the more special moments came earlier this week at Texas Motor Speedway.
Alican “Turk” Boyacioglu of Wichita, Kan. was lucky enough to be the first customer to receive his 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. He placed an order for a 2016 Camaro SS earlier this year and was elated to meet Chevy at Texas Motor Speedway to pick up the car – but he had no idea just how lucky he was.
When Boyacioglu arrived at the track, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Danica Patrick emerged from his Camaro and handed over the keys to him. He could hardly contain his excitement, telling Chevy the “whole experience was surreal.”
“Coming to the race and getting the VIP treatment was amazing, and I still can’t believe I get to drive the first 2016 Camaro away,” Boyacioglu said.
Other customers who have orders on the 2016 Camaro will soon begin to receive their cars as well. The first wave of production models has officially begun shipping from General Motors’ Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in Michigan and is expected to arrive at dealerships by mid-November.
