General Motors will be busy putting its E2XX platform to work, finding many applications on incoming vehicles. The 2017 Buick LaCrosse will be one of those applications, and AutoHome has obtained a Chinese spy shot of the car, which you can see here.
The 2017 LaCrosse will grow in size on the E2XX platform, stretching its legs to make for some greater breathing room above the Buick Regal. Expect some major weight savings with the transition to the platform for the 2017 LaCrosse, judging by what Chevrolet engineers were able to accomplish with the 2016 Malibu and its weight loss. Construction should be stiffer, yet lighter.
Unlike the 2016 Malibu, however, it’s expected the 2017 LaCrosse will retain a V6 option, possibly the new LGX 3.6-liter V6 engine, while turbocharged four-cylinder are all but a certainty. Power will more than likely be sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 2017 LaCrosse is expected in fall of 2016, so we should see an auto show debut in the near future.
