Itching for a turnkey racer with a bit of providence and pomp? Well, you’re in luck, as you certainly can’t go wrong with this 2004 Cadillac CTS-V.R, a factory built and campaigned racer extensively used in the SCCA World Challenge series from 2004-2008.
The track-going CTS-V features GM’s famous LS6 (5.7L OHV V8), just like the first-generation CTS-V on which it is based, but here it’s been ramped up to produce over 500 hp @ 7200 rpm and 420 lb-ft of torque @ 5600 rpm.
CTS-V.R-04 is just one of five numbered CTS-V race chassis built, yet just one of three with actual race history under its wing; it was part of two world championships. As such, the ‘Buy It Now’ price currently sits at a hefty $225,000, though the ‘Make Offer’ deal has been omitted so we really have no clue whether the 18 bidders currently watching have placed a bid, or where those bids sit. Though it seems the race car was not sold, as the auction just ended.
If you could, would you drop nearly a quarter million bucks on this?
