Scott Dixon will stray away from his usual red and white Target paint scheme for the Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend, opting for a black Energizer EcoAdvanced Batteries livery as part of a deal between the battery company and Target Chip Ganassi Racing.
“Energizer has been an integral part of the Target Race Program since 1996 and I’ve been to victory lane with them three times before in the IndyCar Series so I’m looking for them to bring me some added luck,” Dixon said in a statement. “I’m always on the lookout for the latest technology so it will be great representing the Energizer® EcoAdvancedTM program this weekend in Texas for Team Target.”
The entire Chip Ganassi crew will have different paint at Texas, with Sage Karam sporting a Lexar Chevrolet and Tony Kanaan reverting back to an NTT Data Chevy after teaming up with Taylor Swift in Detroit.
Dixon has a good history at Texas, with one win, one pole, eight top-fives and 10 top-10 finishes throughout his lengthy IndyCar career. He may be one to watch when the Firestone 600 goes green on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
