It’s common knowledge that off-road and rally racing are some of the most dangerous sports to be a spectator of. The long stages make it hard or impossible for event organizers to control the spectators, which has resulted in deaths in the paths and nearly resulted in death during the recent SCORE Baja 500.
Team Chevy’s Robby Gordon was making his way through a section of the Baja 500 and fighting for the lead with eventual race winner Apdaly Lopez when he came across a section lined with spectators. For some reason, one race attendee decides to bolt across the road just as the trucks are making their way down the dirt road. He gets hit by Gordon, who was forced to slow down after the accident, but was luckily not killed and was later treated for a broken leg, according to FOX.
