About 400 2015 Chevrolet Colorado / 2015 GMC Canyon orders reportedly went unfulfilled as the American trucks go on backorder. The word comes from a Canadian dealer group, and it seems that extra efforts at the Wentzville Plant aren’t enough.
On the flip side, these buyers may wind up with an even better deal than they bargained for, as Chevrolet aims to satisfy customers. There’s talk that this will mean a 2016 MY at the price of a 2015 MY.
Still, we can imagine how spirit-crushing the news must be for someone who’s totally stoked about getting their new truck. One buyer actually decided to share his story with Jalopnik’s Truck Yeah! segment:
“He ordered a 2015 Colorado from Park Lane Chevrolet in Sarnia, Ontario and was told to expect an eight to 12 week waiting period because demand was so high. After five weeks, the dealership apparently called him to say “projected production wouldn’t meet demand” and he’d have to wait to place an order again for a 2016 truck.”
Right now, patience is truly a virtue for those who are looking to get behind the wheel of a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado or 2015 GMC Canyon. Especially those in the Great White North.
