It seems like its impossible to escape the Taylor Swift madness. She’s on the radio, she’s on TV and now, she’s in IndyCar as well.
No, Taylor won’t be climbing behind the wheel for this weekend’s Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix in Detroit, but she has sponsored Tony Kanaan’s No. 10 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet for the race. We’re assuming it’s no coincidence that one of two IndyCar race’s to be held this weekend will be on Saturday, May 30, the same day of Taylor’s concert at Ford Field in downtown Detroit.
Big Machine Records, a partner of Chip Ganassi Racing, has been selected to promote Taylor Swift’s 1989 World Tour. The company has also backed Sage Karam’s No. 8 Chevy, adorning it with Rascal Flatts-themed ads, a band which has a concert in Detroit on June 6.
Kanaan said he’s “proud” to support Taylor in this weekend’s Detroit GP, posting a video to Facebook showing off his pink and light blue livery to the tune of her hit song, “Bad Blood.” Check it out here, and don’t forget to tune into this weekend’s IndyCar festivities on ABC.
